In case you haven't heard, Note By Note is a track-by-track breakdown of every song the Beatles ever wrote! to me, there's a place on the first album, is kind of John looking for other places to be; literally. i can't imagine self deprecation being that much of a surprise even then. especially coming out of british working class culture. and our humour ( fifties sixties goons etc) pretty much takes the stance impressive we aren't silly we are.
loved your point about the blending of voices and their gradual shift from northern accents
great fun in this podcast when picking the song apart might lead to something dry. every little thing, follow the sun and what you're doing - A 's imo.
